For all of the Safari enthusiasts out there, Tata Motors Nepal has good news for you. The company has teased the All-New Tata Safari, another long-awaited SUV from Tata Motors, across its social media channels, signalling an imminent launch. The third-gen Tata Safari has the same engine and looks as in the Tata H5, but it's larger and in terms of design, supporting a 6-seater with captain seats and a 7-seater with bench seats. The 2021 Tata Safari is the third-gen model for the Safari nameplate and it is based on the company's Land-Rover derived Omega architecture which also underpins the Tata Harrier or H5. The new Tata Safari gets the same 170hp, 2.0-litre Kryotec turbo-diesel engine from the Harrier (H5), as well as its six-speed manual and six-speed torque converter automatic gearbox options. The All-New Safari boasts a unique grille upfront with Tata's signature tri-arrow motifs finished in chrome. There’s more chrome encasing the split headlight clusters and on the door handles. The Safari also boasts of a new Harbor Blue paint shade but the alloy wheel design remains identical to that of the Harrier (H5).
The rear end of the Safari is unique with a full rear-quarter glass, a stepped roof, and a more upright rear section. The tail-gate is entirely new and the taillights are slightly different as well. The Safari also gets new roof rails with silver inserts bearing the Safari inscription. There are several elements in the design that nod to the original. The high bonnet, a strong face, the stepped roof, the rear three-quarter glass, and stadium seating - all hark back to the original Safari.
The 2021 Tata Safari is 80mm taller and 63mm longer than the Harrier (H5) to accommodate the extra row of seats. It also gets a revised rear end, a stepped roof, and an upright tailgate. The interior of the Safari has an Oyster White interior theme, paired with an Ash Wood dashboard. The all-new Safari comes in two seating configurations - a 6-seater with captain seats and a 7-seater with bench seats.
The upcoming Safari is expected to be priced between Rs 95 Lakh- Rs 1 Crore in the Nepalese market. It rivals the likes of Hyundai Alcazar, Mahindra XUV500, and MG Hector Plus.
